About our Labradoodles: Service

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

ARE YOUR DOGS HEALTH TESTED?

The simple answer is yes. We wouldn't breed from them unless they were.

All our labradoodles are tested for and clear of:

Centronuclear myopathy,

Degenerative Myelopathy,

Exercise-Induced Collapse,

Gangliosidosis GM2,

Hyperuricosuria,

Hereditary nasal parakeratosis,

Neonatal encephalopathy with seizures,

Osteochondrodysplasia,

Skeletal Dysplasia 2,

VonWillebrands disease,

EXON 2 (risk factor for the development of Degenerative Myelopathy),

Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-PRCD) and

Progressive Retinal Atrophy (Rod-cone dysplasia 4) (RCD4).

Our Goldendoodles are tested for a slighltly different range of issues, as the original base breeds are slightly different, These are tested for and clear of:

Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)

Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (DEB)

Gangliosidosis Type 2 (GM2)

Ichthyosis Type A (ICT-A)

Muscular Dystrophy Golden Retriever Type (MD-GR)

Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEWS)

Osteochondrodysplasia (OCD)

Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type 3 (OI3)

Progressive Retinal Atrophy Golden Retriever Type 1 (PRA-GR1)

Progressive Retinal Atrophy Golden Retriever Type 2 (PRA-GR2)

Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-PRCD)

Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-rcd4)

Sensory Ataxic Neuropathy (SAN)

Von Willebrand Disease 1 (VWD1)

As Labradoodles and Goldendoodles are not KC registered, hip scoring is hard to do as there is not a breed average, as there is no breed as such.  However, we have taken all of our dogs to the vets and had them officially 'unofficially' tested, and all have shown to have excellent 'unofficial' scores!

DO YOU HAVE A BREEDING LICENCE?

Yes, because why wouldn't you?  We have held a licence with Wrexham Borough Council since 2016 when we moved into our forever family home.
In October 2018 the amendments to the Animal Welfare Act came into force. This means that anyone who sells their puppies to the public for a profit, (whether they claim to make a profit or not) must have a licence, and adhere strictly to the law.  This is regardless of the number of dogs/litters they have. It is not expensive to obtain a licence, nor does it require you to do anything that isn't in the interest of the dogs. Therefore, no one should have an excuse not to have a licence.  It does also mean you can be sure we do everything properly, including all the paperwork and giving you the reassurance we are here for the life of your puppies

WHERE ARE YOUR DOGS KEPT?

In the house. Where else would they be?

HOW BIG WILL THE PUPPIES BE?

All our dogs are standard size. There are no miniatures in our bloodlines, meaning all the puppies will be at least 24" to the shoulder and around 25-30kg when fully grown.
Please note, if you don't have direct access to a private outside space, our dogs aren't for you. They need this area for their wellbeing, growth and development.

WHO LOOKS AFTER THE PUPPIES DURING THE DAY?

To me, this was a very strange question to ask, how on earth could we raise litters and not be here?  Then it became apparent from conversations with our new owners that many other home breeders work full time so the litters are left unattended during the day! This totally baffled me, how on earth can they do this responsibly and not be around? So in short, whilst both my husband and I have jobs, we don't work at the same time as we also have four little, two legged, family members, so we are always here to supervise and raise your new addition, providing all the stimuli and love a young pup could ever need. They are never left alone for the entire time they are here!

WILL THE PUPPIES SHED HAIR?

No breeder can guarantee that their puppies will not drop hair, nor be hypoallergenic.  However, none of the parent or grandparents moult, so we hope this is passed onto their puppies, but we can not guarantee this.

CAN WE COME AND VISIT YOU AND YOUR DOGS?

Yes, in fact we actively encourage this.  It’s a lot easier for you to meet our dogs and us when we don't have the distraction of puppies in the house.  Puppies are young for a very short period of time, they get big very quickly. It’s also a great opportunity for us to meet each other and we can both make sure our puppies are right for you.Visits are by appointment only as all our dogs are family members and we are a family first, so just dropping by might not be always be convenient. Whilst we are here all of the time, we have 4 young children, whose needs must also come first, so we do have to work around them when timing your visits. We don’t accept visits on a Sunday, we like a day off too.

HOW DO WE JOIN YOUR WAITING LIST?

You will need to come and visit us and our dogs. This way we can be sure you are right for our dogs and our dogs are right for you.  Once we are both happy we can add you to a waiting list.

WHY DO WE NEED TO MEET YOUR DOGS?

The Labradoodle is not a registered breed. Therefore every Labradoodle breeder breeds a slightly "different mix" of dog.  This will result in different coat qualities, different temperaments and different sizes.
Whilst there are generic pictures/videos on the internet, you will get a better feel for our Labradoodles if you come and see them. You will find their are variations between different breeders, so its important you get the right labradoodle for you.
We breed labradoodle to labradoodle, we don't use the base breed, which means we know the temperament, size and coat qualities of our puppies.

WHAT SHOULD, OR SHOULDN'T WE BRING WHEN WE VISIT?

When you come to visit us, we advise you not to wear your best clothing. Our dogs love mud, and love their walks as well as cuddles. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your point of view, this may mean that you might not leave as clean as you arrived.
We also ask that you don't bring your existing pets, or any dog treats with you. Neither will be permitted, so please don't ask, there are good reasons for both.
Basically just bring yourselves!

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE CAN I JOIN YOUR WAITING LIST?

We limit joining our waiting lists to around 9 months in advance. The reason we do this is because a lot can change for people. We have found over the years that many people who join our lists a year or more in advance aren't able to have a puppy when the time comes. So if you are looking a long way into the future you are still welcome to get in touch and visit us if your circumstances are unlikely to change, but please be aware that timings may alter for the litters as seasons can be unpredictable.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I'M ON THE WAITING LIST?

You will be contacted regularly to make sure you are still wanting a puppy from us. Each email will contain a time limit for a reply. If we don't receive a reply, we can only assume you are no longer interested. This may sound harsh, but we can't keep chasing you, puppies should not need the hard sell.Once the puppies are born, we will work through the waiting list offering you what we have available. This will be done in order. Please remember, we are dealing with nature, even though we get the girls scanned, and we know roughly what to expect, sometimes things don't always go to plan, and we don't know what colour or gender the puppies will be.If there isn't the right puppy for you, you maybe disappointed, or angry, but there is nothing we can do about this, please don't take this out on us, we are not a puppy farm so can not just produce a puppy for you.  You will of course be welcome to move to a later waiting list, to get your perfect puppy. If you are involving young children, it maybe better to wait until they are born, once the puppies are here and real. This is the reason why deposits are not paid until they are born.

WHAT SUPPORT DO YOU OFFER WITH YOUR PUPPIES?

We offer you a life time of support, you become part of the Parkfield family.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS AFTER THE PUPPIES ARE BORN?

A £500 deposit, paid at birth, will secure your puppy and viewings will take place when the puppies are five weeks old.  The balance is payable on collection of your puppy at eight weeks.  We encourage you to visit as often as possible between five and eight weeks so you get to know your puppy before you take it home. If you are unable to do it, it doesn't matter as you will be placed in a What's App group and you will receive constant updates of the puppies progress as the weeks go by.

The puppies will be born and raised in the heart of our home with no time or expense spared, along side our other Labradoodles and our children. Puppies will be handled daily and will be used to household noises.

The Puppies will be toilet trained, crate trained and fully weaned by the time they are ready to go to their forever homes. They will have been wormed, with Drontal at 2,4,6 and 8 weeks, been thoroughly checked by the vet, micro-chipped, and will have had their first set of nobivac injections by the time they leave us.

They will come with full paperwork including, their weight charts, worming schedules, contract of sale, blankets and a full puppy pack. They also come with a bag of Eukanuba food and a life time of support.
